Installation and updates

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
  • Administrator privileges to install the Windows service

Install

Download IPAssistantSetup-1.0.0.exe from the software page. Version 1.0.0 is an unsigned initial public release, so Windows SmartScreen may display an unknown-publisher warning.

Only download the installer from netcfan.com or the project's GitHub Releases page.

Verify the installer

Download the accompanying .sha256 file and run:

Get-FileHash .\IPAssistantSetup-1.0.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Compare the output with the value in the .sha256 file.

Update

Run the installer for the newer version. Setup stops the old service, updates application files, then reinstalls and starts the service. The uninstaller preserves the data directory by default, so existing profiles remain available.
