Troubleshooting
A profile cannot be activated
- Check that the
IPAssistantSvcservice is running. - Confirm that the bound network adapter still exists.
- Validate static IP, gateway, DNS, and IPv6 prefix values.
- Check whether Windows or another management tool disabled the adapter.
The adapter is marked invalid
Windows may create a new adapter GUID after a driver reinstall. Edit the profile and select the current adapter. IP Assistant does not automatically delete the original profile.
Rollback failed
If both the network change and automatic rollback fail, IP Assistant explicitly reports the rollback failure. Open Windows network settings, inspect the adapter, and restore DHCP or the correct static settings for the current network.
Report a security issue
Do not disclose an unpatched vulnerability in a public issue. Follow the project's security policy to report it privately.
